Top 5 Restaurants To Enjoy With Your Family

As everyone is getting back into the swing of a regular routine, it’s only a matter of time before we are going to be looking for a break from the kitchen. But tired of the big box family restaurants? We have put together a list of our favorite family friendly restaurants that bring something a little different.

1. Gabriel’s Cafe

   This awesome local restaurant is located downtown on Commercial Street. It has recently expanded as they desperately needed the extra space. There is plenty of seating and a small outside patio in the summer months. They serve delicious unique breakfasts and hardy lunches. All ingredients are sourced from local, small sustainable farms. They have a kids menu too!

2. Rusted Rake Farm

   Located just inside of Nanoose this is a family owned and run farm with an awesome cafe serving breakfast and lunch. As well as delicious hot drinks and fresh baked goods. They have a small kids menu as well and plenty of chocolaty treats! Inside there are tables and some couches around the fireplace to cozy up at. In the summer months there is a covered outdoor patio as well as a grassy area with picnic tables. This grassy area is also dog friendly and perfectly for those little ones that just want to run around.

3. Gina’s Mexican Cafe

   Gina’s is a great family friendly restaurant! With tons of color and funky decor your kids will have plenty to look at. Gina’s does not have a separate kids menu but lots of kid friendly options on their menu. Cheese quesadilla, nachos, bean burrito and so much more. They also have a great menu of fun virgin drinks!

4. Smoke ‘n Water

   This restaurant is located in Pacific Shores Resort & Spa in Nanoose Bay. Serving breakfast seven days a week as well as a separate lunch and dinner menu. They have daily specials and live music through out the week! There are some great kid friendly menu options and delicious desserts.  It’s an awesome place to take your family on the weekend for live music and dancing! You will see people of all ages moving on the dance floor.

5. Smokin Georges BBQ

   This is the perfect family friendly restaurant for comfort food and a laid back vibe. Ideal for on your way home from a busy day of running around with the family. Plenty of tasty options on their menu. Our personal favorite, creamy Mac & Cheese and fried dill pickles.. There’s something for everyone!
