It’s that time of year again, time to find some fun activities to do indoors with your family! Here is a list of our Top 5 Indoor Family Activities for you to enjoy this Fall/Winter season with your family.

Breakout Nanaimo
This is a unique activity that is newer to the Nanaimo area. Groups of 2-6 people will enter a room where they will be locked inside for up to 60 min. Once inside the room they will need to solve a series of puzzles and riddles to crack the code and break out. This is a great activity for communication and team work!

Air House
Air House is great for all ages. This indoor trampoline park is the perfect active indoor activity! They offer private and group lessons for Parkour, Freestyle, biking and more. They also have monthly passes as well as drop in pricing. Air House also offers specific times for certain age groups. For example they offer Toddler Time for 3 & 4 year olds.

Family Skates
Nanaimo has two great indoor ice rinks that offer family skating. They have a Family Skate, Parents and Tot Skate as well as a Everyone Welcome Skate. These times run from Sept 10th until March 30th. They even have Free Skates on select Fridays from 3:45-5:15 at the Nanaimo Ice Center. During the holiday season for a few days the rink is transformed into a Winter Wonderland. This year the theme is Candy Land.

Bowling
Nanaimo has two great bowling alleys. Brechin Lanes is a five pin alley and Splitzville is ten pin. Both offer reservations, rentals as well as great food and drinks. They put on events like birthday parties and cosmic bowling on the weekends! Black lights, laser lights, disco balls and great music.

Swimming
Nanaimo has two indoor aquatic centers. Beban Park Pool and Nanaimo Aquatic Center. Beban Park pool is within the larger Beban Park complex. They have a leisure pool, lazy river and toddler area. As well as a Aquasize pool and lap pool.
Nanaimo Aquatic Center is listed as one of the largest wave pools in Western Canada. They have a lazy river, water play ground and two awesome water slides! There is also a sauna, hot tubs and a lap pool.
