Eating out around Town…

Nanaimo is surrounded by such beauty, set against breathtaking backdrops and scenery…but did you know that it is also a culinary delight!
Are you like us? Always looking for something delicious to try? We don’t pretend to be foodies, but after eating out and about in town, we certainly have become #NanaimoFoodies!
We couldn’t choose just one, so we picked a few of our favourites:
1 – The Firehouse Grill: Top rated around here for a reason, as they combine traditional sushi and savoury delights. Hailed as being tasty & family friendly, this ‘high-end dining’ in a very casual and friendly environment is not one to be missed. It is perfect to take clients, family events and just a night out with someone special!
2- The Nest Bistro: Their slogan says it all ‘Tuck into Something Good’! From the delicious thin crust pizza to late night snacks this place is so worth return trips! Sourcing local, organic and fresh food – this gem is so ideal for any type of occasion!
3- Looking for a ‘great place to experience life’? Check out the North Nanaimo wonder – Simon Holt’s … great place for live entertainment, food, and company. Boasting 3 patios, it is a wicked place to sit back and enjoy the beautiful summer nights with a glass of local wine.
4- A Nanaimo staple, located right on the water – Trollers Fish & Chips. Delicious food chalked full of the natural ambiance that we love about Nanaimo. Only opened April – Thanksgiving it is a treat to put on the spring/summer list of spots to visit.
5- Farm to Fork – the staple behind the sweet gem Gabriel’s Bistro. Boasting that they are a ‘food truck without wheels’, this beautiful restaurant stands by their motto, that they only use small farms and have healthy and happy meat and eggs on their menu. What they do with that food is spectacular! Our mouths are watering just thinking about it. Check this place out, conscious of the world and conscious of taste!
And we cannot finish a list of places to have delicious nosh without mentioning the Mahle House. This Nanaimo restaurant is not only a wonderful place to eat at, but it is in an old historic home and the food is locally sourced (they have their own farm to boot). Ranging in culinary delights, this family-owned spot is one not to be missed this year.
Do yourself a favour this Spring – check out one of these scrumptious places and then add a few to the list yourself! Nanaimo has it all!
